PROFESIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

Stella Wright is an emerging poet full of passion with a mission to call out injustice and the mental health crisis. She is the two-time state champion of Poetry Out Loud and the National Champion of Poetry Ourselves for her original poem, “The Season of Being.” Her poetry escapes the page, as she often chooses to perform in the form of slam poetry, winning the Guthrie Black Theatre Circle’s “Blackness is…” Arts competition; you can also find her work in publications such as San Diego Poetry Annual for her poem, “I’ll Only Fall Once.
